But still, it's totally unusable in PvP. They still went from one extreme to the other and I find it annoying, personally. They could've increased the cast time, the recharge or lowered damage, make it easily interruptible or something. But that's me really.

No, that's what I find disturbing, too. I don't use the skill, but it was the approach, or lack of one, that made me respond to this news. Like you, I believe a skill can be/should be balanced rather than killed. There are tons of easy ways this skill could have been balanced, or more balanced, rather than 25/90'd.

I kind of wonder why he didn't just make it locked in PvP; in the current state it pretty much has the same effect.

Well, at least this way you can go to RA and laugh at the people who don't read skill updates or even check their skill bars (and hope they're not on your team lol).

Izzy sure knows how to kill skills he doesn't like.
Oh well, can't say I'm going to miss smiting monks in OP gimmick builds.

Seriously, nobody is complaining that Smiter's Boon got nerfed. It promoted degenerative unskilled play. It's good it's not around anymore.

I think they need some better testers for these skills before they stick this into the game. I mean some of these skill/features would never see overly ridiculous nerf’s if they actually tested that particular skill/feature before the entire game came out. I mean when they thought of the skill “smiter’s boon,” to help the “smiter” line become more popular, could they collaborate on the coming problems of that particular skill. Instead of beating it to death with an overzealous nerf a year latter, knowing it was terrible idea in the first place. Instead of wasting everyone’s time. It’s like some delayed reaction from the skill balancers and R&D down there at A-net.
I worry about GW 2 dealing with this problem more and more as it comes closer to its release. Especially now to see the people at A-net can’t figure these problems still until the last minute. That’s what gets on my nerves the most, not having common sense about a future issue.

Silly. People forgot how to GvG and PvP in general a long time ago. Now it's just a rush to find the next gimmick build until it's nerfed, then repeat unto eternity.

ok not sure if this has been said before already, as i only looked through 4 or so pages.
but i believe this is the longest recharge 25e spell in the game now, more than meteor shower. you would think for 25e and every 90 sec, it would be a "kill button" or something. but no, it makes your smite skills heal for 75-80 instead of 35-40 for 5 seconds. LOL. Just delete the skill from the game, or change functionality. That spell could easily be a dozen other things, yet you choose to do this and leave it. But as it is, why don't you make it so its the longest recharge in the game?
As far as disrupting lunge goes, the problem with 99% of imba ranger pet builds is RaO. Period, end of story. If you want to kill a skill on the bar, *drumroll* yeah you just killed the wrong one...anyone see a pattern here?

[disrupting lunge] needed to be nerfed because it was a "fire and forget" skill, relying almost purely on luck to get skills. Whether or not this was the main problem on the RaO bar, it needed to be nerfed. Pretending this skill was fine is stupid.
